Pelle Pelle was launched by Mark Buchanan in 1978. The reason why many of us think that is because it was a decade ago when he launched his leather clothing brand. Speaking of which, it was called Pelle Pelle, it's still called this but not in the business anymore. We suppose, Marc ran out of new designs or he believed that the industry has evolved too much so did the hip-hop culture. We don’t have concrete proofs but if you go through his work, especially soda club Pelle Pelle you’ll see it is mostly inspired by hip-hop.
