Mould the putty around the leak and cover the circumference of the pipe. Make sure it's thick and tight enough to stay. Give it 10 minutes to dry completely.

  • Use plumber tapes

If the leak is happening at the joint of two pipes, use a plumber tape. This is made of silicon. The width of the tape should be good enough to ensure maximum coverage at the joint. Cover the joint with layers of the tape.

  • Use clamps

Clamps are easily available in the market. Get a correct sized clamp according to your pipe. Wrap the leak with a rubber pad, sometimes it is inbuilt in the clamp. Then attach the clamp, tighten its screws and you are done. This can hold the leaks for a good long time.

  • Adhesive tapes

Use layers of adhesive tapes when the leaks are minor and pin sized. These tapes can only hold such leaks.

  • Replace the leaking pipes

If you think these fixes won’t work, just get a new part and replace the pipes. This should be done to get a permanent solution. Use couplings which are tubes that connect two pipes very strongly. Above all, know when to call a professional leaking pipe repair plumber.
