Various Types of Reception Chairs That Can Be Used at Waiting Rooms


The reception area of an office is very important for the company, where all guests are welcomed and offered comfortable seats so that they can wait patiently. Lots of potential clients or interested partners may visit a company official who might be impressed by the decor of the waiting room and may result in huge business profits. Thus, company owners should invest in selecting a good quality reception chairs, to make their guests comfortable in their offices.  There are various kinds of chairs available in the market, which can be chosen for a commercial reception room.


Few common varieties of reception chairs available for sale:


1. Guest chair:


This is the most common variety among all reception chairs, which is seen in most of the commercial organizations. It is also termed as a side chair and made of vinyl or plastic, as these are most durable and affordable materials. It can be either armed or armless, as both forms are quite popular in offices. These chairs may be made softer by lining with thick leather, where guests can sit comfortably, without causing any back pain. Due to the simple designs and lightweight, these chairs are easily portable.


2. Club chair: 


It is an upgraded variety of guest chair, which is made more comfortable by padding it heavily. Guests can sit comfortably for hours on this thickly padded chair, resembling a smaller version of the sofa. Hence, it is widely chosen in posh clubs and lounges of hotels and airports. Club chairs are available in many sophisticated designs and vary in sizes and types of leather covering these chairs. These reception chairs are also available in many shades and can be chosen according to the interior color scheme.


3. Bariatric chairs:


This type of chair is mainly found in healthcare clinics and lounges of hospitals mainly meant for overweight patients. It is specially cushioned to make those patients comfortable, even after sitting for hours on it. These reception chairs are designed to carry heavy weight ranging between 300 pounds and 700 pounds. Thus, it becomes easier for these obese patients to distribute their bodyweight evenly while resting on these chairs. So it is now also used in the resting rooms designated for patients in hospitals.


4. Sofa: 


It is a high-quality couch that is used in the reception area of large industrial houses, where their guests can have homely comfort. It is a luxurious seat, quite like the club chair, only much larger in size. A sofa may be covered with velvet-like soft fabric or thick leather, on which the prices of these furniture pieces depend.  It can be used only if the lounge has a large free space for accommodating such seating arrangements for all guests. Sometimes, an L-shaped sofa may be purchased for providing seats to a larger number of guests at a time. However, these plush reception chairs cannot be afforded by smaller companies, due to the high prices of these items.


5. Ottoman:


It is a luxurious type of bench that is thickly padded and lined with leather for better comfort than ordinary benches. It is usually placed as additional seats with sofa sets or other reception chairs, to accommodate an extra number of visitors in a large-sized lounge. Generally, it is available in a rectangular or square shape, though the semicircular shape is also quite popular. However, this type of seat does not have any backrest or arms, unlike the armed chairs.


There are many other varieties of chairs and sofas that can be used on commercial waiting rooms or lounges or before the reception counters.
